Questo documentario segue, per quasi un decennio, persone che cercano di costruire un’utopia nella Taiga siberiana. Molti di loro sono seguaci di Vissarion, un uomo che afferma di essere il Figlio di Dio. Fin dagli anni ’90, hanno lavorato per creare l’“Abode of Dawn”, un insediamento montano remoto pensato come società del futuro. Il film mostra raramente Vissarion stesso, concentrandosi invece sulla vita quotidiana nei villaggi circostanti. Attraverso scene frammentarie, emerge un mosaico complesso e vibrante, non ponendo la domanda se Vissarion sia divino, ma se i suoi seguaci siano più felici qui rispetto a dove vivevano prima.

This documentary follows, for nearly a decade, people trying to build a utopia in the Siberian Taiga. Many of them are followers of Vissarion, a man who claims to be the Son of God. Since the 1990s, they have worked to create the “Abode of Dawn,” a remote mountain settlement envisioned as a society of the future. The film rarely shows Vissarion himself, instead focusing on daily life in the surrounding villages. Through fragmented scenes, a complex and vibrant mosaic emerges - not asking whether Vissarion is divine, but whether his followers are happier here than where they lived before.
